Salamander

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Salamander Hotel in Washington DC and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Formerly known as the Mandarin Oriental, the hotel has undergone a transition under the ownership of Sheila Johnson, and while some renovations are still needed to give it a more distinct “Salamander-ish” feel, it is already a very nice establishment.

The first thing that struck me about the hotel was its cleanliness and elegance. The rooms were well-maintained and tastefully decorated, creating a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings added to the overall charm of the hotel.

What truly set the Salamander Hotel apart, however, was the exceptional customer service. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and hassle-free. They were attentive, friendly, and always willing to assist with any requests or questions I had. The service in the drink area was particularly outstanding, and I highly recommend trying their amazing truffle popcorn. It was incredibly addictive and added a unique touch to the overall experience.

Although my stay was relatively short, as I was attending an LL Cool J concert, I can confidently say that I would highly recommend the Salamander Hotel to anyone visiting Washington DC. The combination of excellent customer service, elegant surroundings, and attention to detail make it a standout choice for a memorable stay. I look forward to returning in the future and witnessing the continued evolution of this beautiful establishment.
