Beautiful custom built historic cabin getaway overlooking beautiful mountain vistas with outstanding views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Great convenient, central location to Yosemite (only 10 miles from Yosemite’s south gate), Bass Lake, & Oakhurst, all only minutes away. Our unique ‘Lodging House’ business model gives guests a nice mix of an Inn/B&B & cabin rental experience for less than the cost of a hotel room & far less than an actual cabin rental. We offer 4 rustic elegant en suite cabin rooms, which are rented individually on a nightly basis with full access to the rest of the cabin’s common areas, very similar to a B&B. What separates us from them is that the cabin’s full kitchen can be used to cook all meals too. The cabin’s common areas are – Full kitchen access (stocked with lots of free breakfast items / drinks), Lodge style Great Room centered around large granite fireplace / big screen TV, large covered wrap around deck with lots of outdoor seating / beautiful mountain view / 5 burner propane gas BBQ grill, dining room table seating for 6, kitchen island seating for 3,laundry room, private secluded 2 acres (with trampoline, playground, basketball for kids too), free covered parking, etc. We also offer a concierge type of service & enjoy helping guests maximize their visit to Yosemite / Sierra National Forest with tips & free maps too.

History

Established in 2012.

Our principle idea / philosophy that’s behind everything is based on giving guests what we would want ourselves, which is primarily a cost effective immersive mountain experience with nature that’s complimentary to Yosemite. The cabin itself is a truly unique, beautiful custom built historic getaway. It’s one of the last rough cut milled timber cabins built in this area from the bygone days of the lumber mill era, immersing you in that ‘step back in time’ Yosemite mountain atmosphere. It’s rustic exterior is complimented by a rustic elegant interior. Before opening July 4th, 2012, we spent the previous 2 1/2 years restoring the property & cabin with lots of new upgrades for our guests’ enjoyment during their Yosemite trip. We additionally spent the following 2 years adding 2 brand new cabin rooms (Pine & Cedar). It’s been a labor of love & we’re very exited to share our cabin with interested Yosemite visitors who want their Yosemite lodging to be extra special / memorable.

We’re very passionate about the area, which is why we chose to move here, open this business, & raise our kids here, in order to enjoy all it has to offer year round. We love exploring, boulder climbing, boating, snowboarding, & especially hiking through the ancient forests with all of it’s many rivers, creeks, waterfalls & lakes to swim in. We feel blessed to be able to enjoy all the Sierra Nevada Mountains have to offer year round.

As members of the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau, we’re happy to help interested guests with personal customer service to help plan their day to day excursions with tips, free maps, publications, & brochures ranging from the main famous places to the less crowded secret local hot spots.

We live onsite in a separate smaller home up the hill behind the cabin, so guests have more privacy, yet we’re still onsite for anything needed.
